1. Introduction

LocaFind values the trust you place in us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and when we share it.

LocaFind is a Nigerian hyperlocal marketplace that connects customers with independent local businesses and helps coordinate secure payments, order fulfillment and delivery through our Rider network.

We collect information to run the Platform, provide a reliable experience and meet our legal and operational obligations.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Password, which is stored securely in hashed form

Profile Information

Your profile may include information such as:

  • Profile photo
  • Saved addresses
  • Preferences and account settings

Location Information

We collect location information to show nearby vendors, estimate delivery fees and coordinate deliveries.

LocaFind does not continuously track your movements. We use location information as needed to support discovery, orders and delivery.

Vendor Information

If you register as a Vendor, we may collect business and compliance information required to operate on the Platform.

  • Business description
  • Bank account information
  • CAC registration documents where applicable
  • Product listings
  • Product images
  • Compliance documents where required

Transaction Information

We may collect transaction details, including:

  • Orders and order history
  • Payment references

LocaFind does not store debit or credit card information. Payments are processed through licensed third-party payment providers.

Device & Usage Information

We may automatically collect information about how you use the Platform, including:

  • IP address
  • Browser type

  • Operating system
  • Pages visited
  • Time spent on the Platform
  • Error logs
  • Cookies and similar identifiers

3. How We Use Information

We use information to provide and improve the Platform, including to:

4. How We Share Information

Vendors

We share only the order and delivery information necessary to fulfil an order. This may include customer name, phone number, delivery address and order reference.

Riders

Riders receive only the information needed to complete a delivery, such as:

  • Customer name
  • Phone number
  • Delivery address
  • Order reference

Payment Providers

Payments are processed through licensed providers such as Paystack. We share only the information necessary to complete the payment.

LocaFind does not receive or store complete payment card details.

Service Providers

We use trusted service providers to help us with cloud hosting, analytics, notifications, customer support and security monitoring.

These providers are contractually required to protect user information and use it only to provide the services we engage them for.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information where required by Nigerian law, court orders, government authorities or other lawful requests, including fraud investigations and the protection of rights or safety.

Business Transfers

If LocaFind is acquired, merged or reorganized, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

LocaFind does not sell personal information to third parties.

5. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, improve security, understand usage patterns and improve performance.

You may disable cookies in your browser settings. If you do, some features of the Platform may not work as intended.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures to protect user information. These include HTTPS encryption, encrypted password storage, secure cloud infrastructure, access controls and internal security procedures.

We also monitor the Platform for suspicious activity and review our security practices on an ongoing basis.

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that data will never be accessed, disclosed or altered in a way not described here.

7. Data Retention

We keep information only for as long as needed to provide services, meet legal obligations, support accounting and reporting, prevent fraud and resolve disputes.

After account deletion, some records may still need to be retained to comply with applicable law or for legitimate business reasons.

Continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
